Western equestrian trainer Wylene Wilson reigned at the Extreme Mustang Makeover, held Friday, September 18th, through Sunday, September 20th, at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

For the challenge, 100 horse trainers took 100 wild mustang horses for 100 days. In the end, the professionals showed the horses, competing for $25,000 in prizes. Wylene Wilson, riding her Mustang gelding Rembrandt, won $5,000 for first place.

Wylene Wilson (of Queen Creek, Arizona) has competed in all three annual Extreme Mustang Makeover challenges at the Fort Worth venue. This is her first victory in the event.

My close friend and her horse did well in Fort Worth. She made the finals and was pleased with her results. Her "boss" also bought the horse she had trained, so she was able to bring him back home. She was excited about that. I believe he took first in halter and did well in other events. Good article here.
