Thoroughbred horse racing trainer Kenny McPeek has pulled Noble’s Promise from the running for the 2010 Preakness Stakes (May 15th at Baltimore’s Pimlico Race Course), aiming rather for the June 15th St. James Palace Stakes.
The St. James Palace Stakes is held at Royal Ascot in the United Kingdom. The seven-furlong race, popularly tagged “The Buckingham Palace Stampede,” includes a field of thoroughbreds, three years and older. Giganticus won the 2009 Palace Stakes.
Owned by Chasing Dreams Racing 2008, Noble’s Promise (Cuvee x The Devil’s Trick by Clever Trick) finished fifth in the 136th Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 1st, at Louisville’s Churchill Downs under jockey Willie Martinez.
Noble’s Promise won the Breeders' Futurity-G1 in 2009 at Lexington’s Keeneland Race Course. Here’s a video of Noble’s Promise win.
