Al Gore, Ban Ki-moon, Rajendra Pacahauri. . . Osama bin Laden?
Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden criticized the United States and other industrialized nations for failing to slow climate change, and warned the only way to prevent ruin was to fracture the U.S. economy and break reliance on the American dollar, according to a video released by the Arab TV broadcaster Al Jazeera on Friday.
“This is a message to the whole world about those responsible for climate change and its repercussions—whether intentionally or unintentionally—and about the action we must take,” bin Laden said. “Speaking about climate change is not a matter of intellectual luxury—the phenomenon is an actual fact.”
The tape is bin Laden’s second public communication this month. In a message broadcasted on Al Jazeera last week, he praised the December 25 attempt to bring down a Detroit-bound airliner, breaking his four month silence and spreading fear that al-Qaeda was planning a fresh wave of attacks on western targets.
In his most recent message, bin Laden condemned the Bush administration’s rejection of the Kyoto Protocol and praised American linguist and liberal activist Noam Chomsky for his comparison of “U.S. policies to those of the Mafia,” according to Al Jazeera. He demonized Washington’s ties to American corporations saying “they are true terrorists” who are responsible for driving “tens of millions into poverty and unemployment” and called for the world to boycott American businesses and the dollar.
While he continued his usual verbal attack on the United States, the video message was the first by the leader solely dedicated to global warming. The change in rhetoric is largely seen as an attempt to appeal to non-followers who are angry with the West but are seeking a nonviolent means of participating in the cause.
I’m sure we’re all looking forward to the right wing media’s response. Cue the Al Gore-bin Laden comparisons; run the campaign ads likening Obama’s position on climate change to that of a terrorist.
Er, thanks but no thanks bin Laden.

How anyone cannot see that this press release is proof positive that western intelligence is using the bin Laden fable for its own purpose must be blind!! Intelligence reports have already indicated that bin Laden has been dead for 8 plus years. Every release since then has been through IntelCenter (ALWAYS) and NEVER authenticated. Most releases are timed perfectly to help rally support for western government causes, relecting Bush, revitalising the 'war on terror' and now, ludicrously, the environment. Perfect timing again, when the whole warming thing is falling apart because of figure fiddling and outright lying to make a scientific study into a dogmatic political ploy. Wake up people, your being lied to again!!
Why, Steve, do you think it is that people want to accept the Bin Laden lie? Obviously there is a strong desire on the majority of people to want to believe what they are told. And it is just as obvious that Bin Laden is dead. Do some research on the subject.
So why is the lying accepted? My belief is that if this lie is exposed then the other events surrounding 9/11 and the 'War on Terror' will come under suspicion and more lies will be exposed. That is something the US general population is not ready for.
So, we continue the denial. Take a look at yesterday's Pioneer Press page 4A. Bottom of the page there are two briefs about global warming, both positioned nearly next to each other. On the left of the page is "Obama targets climate issue". Towards the right of the page is "New bin Laden beef: climate". Both released on the same day, the same topic. What are the odds?
Can't get much more blantant than that, I love the 'balls' on these people! The truth will come out eventually.
I agree. But I actually think that Obama is Osama and al Gore is his body guard. You people make no sense. Get a life
Not everything is a conspiracy people!!!!!!!!!!!!
