Clean Air NY, an initiative of the New York Department of Transportation, has announced this year's Clean Air Champions. Champions distribute air-quality information to employees on Air Quality Action Days and provide incentives to their employees and the public to make more health-conscious travel choices. The Champions in NYC's five boroughs will be honored and thanked at the new Yankee Stadium during the New York Business and Energy Expo because they work to make NYC a breathe-easy place.

Many of the current Champions have played an important role in the clean air advocacy week that is coming to a close this weekend. On Tuesday--day two of the "Commit to Cleaner Air" week--nearly 100 New York Methodist Hospital employees and visitors pledged to commit to cleaner air. New York Methodist Hospital and Northern Westchester Hospital hosted a couple of the week's events where representatives from CommuterLink and Clean Air NY educated the public and hospital employees about the health risks associated with poor air quality. Young patients at the hospitals received coloring books about improving New York’s air quality.
Clean Air NY's list of Champions is a list of businesses and organizations you can feel good about supporting. For the full list of champions, visit Clean Air NY.
