Do you know what those small buildings out on Lake Michigan are for?  You will know after going to "Water" at the Field Museum.

Lake Michigan is a treasure. Learn about our precious resource at the awesome exhibit, due to close September 20, 2009. Discounted tickets are available for Chicago residents.

Learn about the water intake cribs and the world's largest drinking water purification system--Chicago's own. Walk through a diorama of a slot canyon and California's Mono Lake. Learn about the impact of global warming on polar bears. See the amount of bottled water the average North American resident drinks in a year. View wetland ecosystems that fringe Lake Michigan.

“Science on a Sphere” is one of the highlights of "Water" at The Field Museum. See breathtaking views of our blue planet. Gain a deeper appreciation of water as a world-shaping force. You will also see how limited our global fresh water resources are.

Kids and parents compete side-by-side at computer terminals, testing their "H2O I.Q." Many kids were scoring higher than their parents, so look out! You might be surprised by some of the water facts you thought you knew!

From the stunning fog curtain entrance through the stunning dioramas, "Water" is a great way to experience science. Environmental science covers a wide range of issues. You can see how science translates to our own lives with our most precious resource, water.

Don't forget the Real Pirates exhibit is still running. Cover two fantastic exhibits in one day!
