As the job market continues to be saturated by qualified candidates looking for entry level jobs, more and more employers are getting overwhelmed with sifting through piles of resumes from candidates who are unqualified or have unrelated skill sets. One job board that piqued my interest is LocalBacon.com. This model is very different than many of the standard job boards out there, because job seekers will have to pay $.99 to apply for a job. Before you get all fired up, think about it.
As a recruiter, it is a great opportunity for me to post my job on this site because I am guaranteed to receive serious applicants who are looking for the right job. The candidates are more likely to be qualified for my position and have the experience to back it up. This is also prevents candidates for applying to every position that they see is available. This site provides a more selective candidate pool for recruiters to use to fill jobs.

Seems like a no brainer. Filters out the candidates that throw their resume at every listing out there, and a buck is a negligible fee to pay to apply for a job you may really be interested in.
