Today is Thanksgiving, and I know I have a lot for which to be thankful. I have a wonderful family, great friends and colleagues, and inspiring mentors.

Even if you haven’t landed the internship or entry-level job you’re seeking, surely you have a lot to be thankful for, too. I suggest you use the long holiday weekend to let the people who’ve aided your search thus far know how much their support means to you.

Purchase a nice set of thank you cards, and take the time to handwrite personalized notes to each individual this weekend. Not only will it make their day, but it also might trigger them to take additional action on your behalf.

Be sure to include specifically how the person helped you and the current status of your job search. Don’t use this as an opportunity to ask for additional help! If they end up taking that leap on their own, so be it.
