Are you a student with ideas in need of a job opportunity and/or cash? If so, I recommend perusing the GrouperEye Web site.
Here’s how it works:
Student benefits include:
1. Job opportunities. Companies use
GrouperEye to recruit the best talent. Hiring managers and HR reps can see how students attack a project and the quality of ideas that they are able to generate. Great submissions will lead to great jobs.
2. Build a tangible portfolio. Organizations like job candidates that present them with items they can touch or see. At
GrouperEye, a student can say, "I put together a plan for Motley Fool to launch a new Premium Newsletter. I placed second in the competition and here is my plan."
3. Get noticed. A company has no way to measure passion, ideas, or originality. We would argue that these three traits matter more than GPA and test scores.
GrouperEye is a way for students to showcase their passion, ideas and originality to companies through case competition submissions.
4. Experience. Once a student starts working for a brand, they are going to learn a lot about a particular industry. The experience can enable a student to realize, "Hey, I want to do this type of work" or, "Geez, working in this industry would be terrible."
5. $100. The winner of each case gets $100 check send to them immediately, no strings attached. Companies can also add to this prize. Some companies offer meetings with founders, a BBQ lunch, financial advice and t-shirts.
So what’s the catch? “We don't charge any fees or up-sell any products to students. Everything is free. A student's time is the only associated cost,” said Ted Williams, founder of
GrouperEye. “But, we take a student's time very seriously. We understand that the only way we can grow this business is to provide a great value to students. Period. That value means giving cash prizes to the winner of each case and job opportunities. We know the ultimate for any student is to land a job that excites them – and this is exactly what we are going to do, match remarkable students with remarkable companies.”
