Filmaker Jasper Schuringa is a hero for his bravery on Christmas Day, and with that bravery comes a payday. The City of Detroit along with the rest of the US was unnerved on Christmas Day after an apparent bomb attempt aboard flight 253. 278 people were on board the Northwest Airlines Flight 253, when Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab allegedly attempted to light what is being described as a powdery substance. He was tackled by Jasper Schuringa and later arrested. Two popular blogs claim that Jasper Schuringa of the Netherlands has been paid by national news outlets for his story and he has also shopped around phone camera images to mainsteam media for a price. Multiple media watchdog bloggers report that Shuringa's camp sought upward of $10,000 for the shots with interviews going to those media groups that bought a photo. Nydailynews is reporting that Chris Ariens, managing editor of TVNewser.com, said such payments are now part of landscape of media relations, with some mainstream news outlets justifying the transactions by noting that they paid for the photo only, not for the interview.
CNN is said to be the first to pay for Schuringa photo. CNN spokeswoman Carolyn Disbrow emphasized producers didn't arrange Schuringa's Saturday afternoon interview about leaping over seats to stop the terror suspect until after the photo contract was signed. "We don't pay for interviews," she said. However, there's a reason Schuringa has not appeared any further on CNN or any other network, sources state that he has asked for additional payment for any future interviews. Some are upset with Jasper Schuringa attempt to make money off this terrorist attempt. Others think that since he saved so many lives he should get paid for his story. What are your thoughts?

Good luck too him, if he had saved your life would you mind him selling his story of HIS bravery? Had he saved my life, Id buy him the best gift i could afford. Some people have to take a negative view on anything.
The News Media get paid for telling the news, why shouldn't the guy who actually IS the news?
he's a damn hero ! He should get this governments highest award. The passengers on flight 253 whould be taking up a collection for him. A BIG COLLECTION !
he should get paid whatever he wants look at these giants of news and what they make , did they risk their life to help save life , nope not from the top , they just want the story to make more money and say well if you were really a man you would do it for free. If he could get a million dollars he should.
I would have done my best to kill the trash and send him to where he belongs .
