Pam Anderson is in Toronto, trying to save the seals.
Pamela Anderson was in Toronto on October 23rd to launch PETA's new anti-seal hunt campaign. According to CTV News, the Canadian actress called seal hunting a "shameful practice" and told fans that she wanted to "save Canada from further international embarrassment".
Fisheries and Oceans Minister Gail Shea spoke up concerning the stance taken by Anderson against the seal hunt. Shea says "the hunt is crucial to the economies of many coastal communities" and suggests that Anderson leave the comforts of her plush Beverly Hills lifestyle to spend time with the East Coast sealers before she passes judgment on the seal hunt.
PETA senior VP Dan Matthews was quick to respond to our government officials by saying "We're trailing Prime Minister Harper all over the world, protesting his appearance at the World Economic summit "
The Canadian seal hunt has been ongoing for years, so why has PETA now turned its attention to us? We may never know. Most of us are still questioning why PETA attacked President Obama for swatting a fly during an interview.
Do you think PETA is going too far? Why are more and more celebrities putting their attention towards animal rights?

Good for her! Fight on!
hey pam i wil beat up your beaver, for a fee of course.
fo shizzle.
Will Pam and her celeb friends and PETA do something for Newfoundland communities affected if the seal hunt is shut down?
You may not like the seal hunt, you may not like the deer hunt, or the commercial beef industry but they are reality and of great economic importance to those involved. Back off Pam.
PETA never got mad, miffed, or angry, or ever condemn Obama for swatting a fly. That is all made-up. When PETA was hounded by the press, they simply saying, Hes human, not Buddha, and then the story took on a life of its own!
On the plus side, PETA's web site has been visited by literally millions of people curious about this story, who have then been able to see what PETA's real campaigns are about. Sometime back a blogger on Politics Daily summed it up this way: "As ridiculous as much of it might sound, in a way it's brilliant from a public relations point of view. It might not inspire us to trash our fly swatter, run out and purchase a humane bug catcher, or change our driving habits, but it certainly created some conversation. I'm writing about it -- you're reading about it. Some people might have jumped online and researched the organization and the less laughable causes it stands for. Heck, some might have joined or made a donation. All of it over a fly."
Wow, way to take the focus off of Pam, Niranimal. This story isn't even about the "Obama and the fly" incident, and obviously PETA wanted publicity since they chose to respond in the first place. As someone who loves animals, even I think PETA should lay low sometimes. Am happy to see the seal problem being fought. Go Pam!
OK, Pam, they are not baby white seals any more, peta has stop putting a 1980's video showing a baby seal getting killed. Oh i understand they are cute cuddly white animals, but the ones the kill now are grey in colour, they are not consider baby's any more, don't think in human years. Let see sit outside a beef slaughter house in Texas and see how much attention you get then, and see if the locals or anyone would think twice. Get a life Pam
