Jack Klugman attends Hollywood walk of fame ceremony to honor John Stamos

Longtime television Icon Jack Klugman was in attendance recently on Hollywood Boulevard paying tribute to his co-star and friend from the NBC comedy 'You Again?', Stamos was being honored with the 2,393rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday November 16, 2009 and many of his friends were on hand including Mr. Klugman. Speaking from a wheelchair, Klugman described Stamos as "pure sweetness. I love this guy." Sentiments shared by many of the onlookers and fans of Stamos at the ceremony.

'You Again?', was just one of Jack Klugman's many television appearances, but he is best-known for his role as Tony Randall's sloppy roommate, Oscar Madison, in 'The Odd Couple' shown on  television during the 1970s, and for his starring role in Quincy, M.E., in the 1970s and 1980s.

Klugman also starred in several classic films including '12 Angry Men'(1957), 'Days of Wine and Roses'(1962), and 'Goodbye, Columbus' (1969). He won an Emmy Award for the television series 'The Defenders' and appeared in four episodes of the critically acclaimed series 'The Twilight Zone'.

A heavy smoker, Klugman was originally diagnosed with throat cancer in 1974. In 1989 he lost a vocal cord to cancer, but he continued to act on stage and on television. He survived the cancer, though the lost vocal cord has left Klugman with a raspy, scratchy voice.

Jack Klugman trivia according to IMDB:

He reunited with Tony Randall on Broadway in 1998 for Neil Simon's "The Sunshine Boys".

Was nominated for Broadway's 1960 Tony Award as Best Supporting or Featured Actor (Musical) for "Gypsy".

As of November 2009, he is the only one of the 12 Angry Men (1957) who is still alive.

Had a long and bitter feud with actor Norman Fell. The feud lasted over 40 years. They never reconciled.

His star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is at 6555 Hollywood

    I always loved to see John Stamos in any movie and I'm proud to hear that he got his "Star" 1 day after after my birthday. You go John - loving affection from a Scorpio:-)
