Many marriages have succeeded in spite of the behavior of a cheating spouse.
Perhaps the most famous couple to stay together after affairs were publicized is former President of the U.S. and his Secretary of State wife.
Sandra Bullock’s husband, Jesse James, the same guy she thanked for “having my back” at the Golden Globes, released a public apology today after reports that he cheated on Bullock hit the tabloids.
James wrote that most of the allegations are untrue, he won't talk about it further and the only person to blame for it is himself.
Bullock’s spouse’s apology is reminiscent of Tiger Woods recent press conference where he expressed sorry for his extra-marital activities.
Meanwhile in the case of Sandra’s husband, the celebrated source of the information is a tattoo model who posed as a Nazi for kinky photos.
Tiger has had a slew of women contacting media sources and hiring lawyers and publicists to cash in on their affairs.
The latest is former porn star Joslyn James who now is telling the press that she has more salacious stuff to reveal about Woods because the attention on her has died down since she posted more than 100 sexually graphic texts on her Web site.
Apologies are a necessary step for a peaceful resolution to the conflicts, tensions and bad feelings that are always a part of these very public cheating incidents. The must be sincere and be accompanied with true contrite action.
But when is the media going to ask for, and when are we going to hear apologies from the “other women” in these public extra-marital affairs?
