The “New Moon” premiere that took place at the Westwood Theater in Hollywood Monday night could be described as the event of the year. Fans eagerly arrived as early as last Thursday afternoon to secure their tickets to watch the stars arrive at the premiere. By Monday, “Twilight” fans took over the streets of Hollywood, as more than one thousands lined the streets in anticipation for Monday night’s BIG premiere.
Many celebrities also showed up to this exclusive event. The list of celebrity attendees included country music star Julianne Hough, rapper 50 Cent, the cast of GLEE, 90210’s Jessica Stroup, Emma Roberts, “So You Think You Can Dance” favorites Cat Deely and Mary Murphy, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Richie Sambora, Heather Locklear, Jamie Kennedy, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Elle Fanning, and even rocker Joan Jett ( who Kristin Stewart will be playing in an upcoming film). Hollywood must love “Twilight" too.
When 50 Cent was asked if he was on Team Edward or Team Jacob, he commented:
"I'm somewhere in the middle I like to see both of them. It's just the enjoyment of the entire project."
“New Moon” also broke recorded on Myspace as Myspace webcasted the event on their site. Myspace reported that there were over 3 million viewers and these figures marked the highest number of total viewers on any Ustream red carpet event ever. You can view the premiere footage here on Myspace.
The fashion from the premiere was probably the most talked about. Taylor Launter (Jacob) sported a blue suit with a tie and shirt in a similar shade. Robert Pattinson, looking as handsome ever, donned a black Gucci suit with highlighted hair. As for his lovely co-star Kristin Stewart, she want for a lovely flowing gown but still maintained her messy, just got out of bed n hairstyle, with her heavy eye makeup.
One actress, Rachellle Lefevere who plays the villain Victoria was nowhere in sight at the premiere. Executives at Summit Entertainment recently announced that Bryce Dallas Howard would be taking over her role in “Eclipse.”
Lefevere comments:
'Being fired from Eclipse tonight was just 2 emotional 4 me & I couldn't manage it. So sorry.'
As for “New Moon,” the wait is almost over!
