“New Moon” has surpassed all of my expectations ( and then some) and all I can really say is RUN, do not walk to your nearest theater. I have to admit I really liked “New Moon” better than “Twilight.” The pace was a little faster and it stayed true to the book. The movie did not feel like 2 hours and 25 minutes at all and it was just an all out INCREDIBLE film…. there are hardly words to describe it because it was just so amazing. My body froze for the duration of this movie and I could not move my eyes away from the screen.
The anticipation was rising at City Place in downtown West Palm Beach as it got closer to 12:01 AM. The theater was packed with Twilighters and there was a great energy in my auditorium. Finally, in what seemed like hours and hours of waiting, the movie officially began and everyone screamed and clapped in excitement. We all had been waiting a year for this to be released… so what do you expect?
The film stayed true to the book and everything was definitely how I expected it to be. I loved director Chris Weitz’s re imaging of “New Moon” and it was an amazing vibe compared to “Twilight” which was more dark and dreary.. even though I still love “Twilight.” I feel like “Twilight” was an introduction to the series… it had to introduce characters, settings and the story line. “Twilight” had to get us interested and capture our attention as an audience who more or less was comparing the film to the book. “New Moon” began where the first one left off and hit the ground running. There was no wasting time or catching up, it moved and we loved it.
“New Moon” also had an exceptional look to it.The film was clear, colorful and vibrant. The scenery excelled all expectations. The sound was crisp and loud. They were stupid not to be this film in IMAX because it would have been the experience of a lifetime (though it is already up there).
The acting was also turned up to top notch and I think this film should get recognized somewhere at the Oscars. I could really feel Bella’s emotions at the beginning and ending of the film. Kristen Stewart did an excellent job portraying Bella Swan, as she did in the last one. I truly believe that Stewart feels a strong connection to Bella; therefore, she is able to portray Bella and her emotions so well. Taylor Launter stepped everything up a notch and I frankly I couldn’t see anyone else as Jacob Black. He is so mature, so believable, and so emotional that is hard to believe that he is only 17. Not to mention, he was great eye candy, as he was shirtless for most of the film. Robert Pattinson just WOWS!!! me because he captures everything that Edward Cullen is about and does it so well. Edward never wants to hurt Bella and is always there as her protector, even if he is actually not with her. Pattinson captures Cullen’s heartfelt sincerity and emotional drive so well that it makes every women and gay guy weak at their knees. More men need to see this film and take notes. What drove me crazy though was Dakota Fanning. She was definitely not a good fit for Jane as I saw someone much older and more mature looking (though she has aged quite impressively). I really can’t judge her though because she only had two lines, and I’m hoping “Eclipse” (the next installment) stays true to the book as well to give Fanning a much larger role.
I am not writing a plot summary of this film because I do not want to give away any spoilers. If you have read “New Moon” it follows the book to a tee. If you haven’t then you will be surprised. Run, don’t walk, to this amazing film. Get in on the hype and find out why this is THE event of 2009. “New Moon” is hands down an incredible experience and should not be missed. I know I will be seeing this film at least 5 more times in theaters and hopefully it is released on DVD in early 2010. This is one of the best films I ever seen and I can not wait to see what the next installment has in store for us on June 30th.

Kevin, I would have preferred to email you, but you do not have an email address in your bio. I believe our channel manager was very clear when he stressed the importance of correctly categorizing our articles. Reviews, we were told once and again, are not news, under any circumstance. I am sure you are getting page views and making money with this article, clerly a review, but in doing so you are jeopardizing all our sites, as well as Examiner's standing with Google.
Even if you change your article's type now, the damage will have been done.
Furthermore, I believe what you are doing is a sign of extreme disrespect for all your Examiner colleagues, since some of us take the decline in page views if that means being honest and following the rules.
Please think about this, and email me if you want to.
It's Kristen Stewart, not Kristin
Thank you I too loved it also ! The critics are very harsh about the movie but it's really their opinion. I don't think they understand how the movie was suppose to be.
I'M GOING AGAIN TWO MORE time this weekend yay !!!
I don't give away anything that is not already revealed in the movie trailers, plus I do state I'm giving away some spoilers in my review.
Romina, how do you know if Kevin is marking this article down as "newsworthy"? I write at least one movie review a week (I go to a midnight show every Thursday night) and I do as requested and not mark my article as newsworthy, but I can't see how you can tell by reading the article. I asked if any of my interviews should be marked as newsworthy, but they told me only if something new is being revealed in them.
So far the only time I marked an article as newsworthy was when the Oscar hosts were revealed.
Steven, I saw Kevin's article in Google News.
