One month after finishing the second leg of his “Twisted Road” tour, rock legend Neil Young has announced that his latest solo album entitled Le Noise will be released on September 28th.

Le Noise features eight tracks, the majority of which have been featured on his “Twisted Road” tour.
The eight-track album features Young on both acoustic and electric guitar with no band accompaniment. The album’s producer Daniel Lanois addressed this point by stating, “There’s no band, but I got in there with my sonics.”

Lanois, who is also an accomplished singer/songwriter, has produced numerous artists including Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Emmylou Harris, and Willie Nelson. Lanois is best known for producing the classic U2 album The Joshua Tree alongside Brian Eno.

According to Young, who released a statement on his website, Le Noise will be released in Vinyl, CD and I-Tunes. There will also be a Le Noise app available for free on both the I-Phone and I-Pad.

Young’s last album, Fork in the Road, was released 2009 and peaked at #19 on the Billboard charts.

Look for Neil when he kicks off the third leg of his “Twisted Road” tour on September 20th in Panama City, Florida.
