The formerly sleepy town of Forks has become a major travel destination as the fictional home to the cast of Twilight characters. The town located in Washington state, has a population of 3,200 and has recently received an influx of 64,00 visitors.

The Twilight series author Stephanie Meyers said she chose the pacific northwest town because of it’s “Vampire friendly” weather. The city has a high rate of rain with an annual rainfall of up to 10 12 ft a year. Although the film was not actually shot there many locations in the town are said to be the inspiration for the sets.
There have been a few comical moments as a result of the towns Twilight fame. Chamber of commerce representative Marcia Bingham recalled a camper who stated he had changed his mind about camping in Forks due to the “vampire problem”. Twilight has spurred new business s‘ like the “Twilight tour bus”, which takes visitors to see fictional spots from the film.

One fan Annette Root moved to Forks to open a new business called “Dazzled by Twilight”. Business is also booming for “Bella Italia”, the restaurant that hosted first date for characters Bella and Edwin. The two dined on mushroom ravioli during the scene, and last year that dish over 5,000 orders. You can also dine on a “Bella burger” at Sully’ s drive in, or Bellasangna & Edbread, at Pacific Pizza. Afterwards you can enjoy a “Twilight chocolate bar”, or JT’s Sweet Stuffs “Twilight delight” for dessert.
The local “Pacific Inn” even boasts Twilight themed rooms for Twi-hard fans to enjoy. Not to be out done competitor "Dew Drop Inn" is offering a stay in “The Bella Suite”. You can even show your appreciation of Twilight by wearing “Twilight inspired jewelry" which is sold by local artisans.
Of course Forks residents realize the Twilight buzz may not last forever, but for now they plan to enjoy the ride.
