"You've got a very important date." That's the tagline for Tim Burton's upcoming adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, pulling from one of the story's famous lines. Judging by the just-released visual, whimsical trailer, it's certainly true.
With ingenius casting of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham-Carter as The Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as The White Queen, and the stunning Mia Wasikowska (In Treatment) as Alice, along with the promise of a Tim Burton dark spin, the project burst out of the gate with loads of good buzz. The excitement only escalated when character portraits of Depp, Hathaway, and Bonham-Carter as their characters were released. Now the dazzling trailer should only increase expectations for the film, as it is stunningly beautiful, strikingly nightmarish, and gives just the perfect amount of tease of Depp playing what appears to be a delightfully quirky, possibly demented version of the Mad Hatter. (And let's face it, that's the performance everyone is truly excited about).
The film is set to be released March 5, 2010, and will play in 3D and IMAX 3D. Enjoy the trailer below.
