World Wrestling Entertainment CEO Linda McMahon is stepping down as head of the pro wrestling empire to run for Senate in Connecticut.
Vince McMahon now returns as Chief Executive Officer.
Linda McMahon, a Republican, has secured the services of several high-powered political consultants and the assistance of some within the National Republican Congressional Committee.
According to a report from CBS News, McMahon could "spend potentially tens of millions of dollars of her own money on the race."
She will likely face Rep. Rob Simmons, state Sen. Sam Caligiuiri and former ambassador to Ireland Tom Foley for the GOP Nomination.
If successful, McMahon will face longtime Democratic Senator and former Presidential candidate Chris Dodd for a seat that many pundits say is now in play after formerly being "safe."
