The news and entertainment worlds are mourning the loss tonight of Brett Johnson, a native Fort Worth broadcaster who worked for NBC television for more than twelve years.
Johnson died Sunday at the age of 48.
He passed away at Baylor All Saints Hospital, where he had been under care since last Wednesday when, as NBC News reported, he began experiencing stomach pain.
Johnson had previously been diagnosed with pancreatitis, which led to other medical conditions and complications.
The veteran news man made his home in Fort Worth, Texas - the city in which he was bron, raised, and found himself as beloved as any rock star.
