Late night comedians continue to take aim at Michael Vick (video)

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is allowing Michael Vick to begin practicing with an NFL team and even play in the final two exhibition games.

Vick may be fully eligible to play in the NFL by mid-October.

Although Vick's looming full reinstatement is not a laughing matter to those who feel that the former NFL star's horrific involvement in dog fighting warrants greater punishment by the NFL, Michael Vick hasn't escaped the wrath of late night comedians since his troubles began.

• Former Atlanta Falcons and dog fighting aficionado Michael Vick has been conditionally reinstated by the NFL. The condition is he has to wait until October to play in a game, and he has to practice every day against a team of angry Dobermans.
• He has been working hard to rehabilitate himself: He served his prison time . . . he apologized . . . he promised to work with animal rights organizations . . . he was an usher at the Taco Bell dog’s funeral.

David Letterman on Michael Vick:

• There is a tri-state area dog food recall. The tainted dog food will be rounded up and fed to Michael Vick.
• Michael Vick pled guilty to dog fighting charges, and he may do jail time. And they say this guy went through more dogs than Bill Clinton.
• The Falcons, Vick’s team, is still waiting to see if Vick violated the NFL personal conduct policy. And I was stunned. I said to myself, "The NFL has a personal conduct policy?”
• It is so rainy here in New York City, Michael Vick didn’t need a pool to drown dogs.
• The dog fighting charge may put an end to his career. As you know, the same thing happened to Rosie O’Donnell.
