Christian Bale has fans and family worried with his schizophrenic weight patterns

Source: Barcroft Media Ltd

If moderation is the key to success in life, its amazing how Christian Bale continues to succeed in the absence of any moderation at all, particularly when it comes to his weight.

The 35-year-old Batman star who lost more than sixty pounds for his role in "The Machinist" only to quickly beef up for "Batman Begins" is back to his yo-yo dieting for yet another demanding film role.

In order to play a drugged-out former boxer in a forthcoming movie entitled "The Fighter," the handsome British actor has had to forcibly waste away to a mere shadow of his former healthy-looking self.

His gaunt appearance, while vital to his role, has may fans concerned about the long-term consequences born of substantial episodes of weight gain and weight loss. What worries everyone especially is the way in which Bale undertakes weight-loss. By his own admission, Bale has a history of dropping pounds by "barely sleeping" and eating only coffee and apples.

Pictured here outside the set of filming in Boston, Bale certainly looks less than healthy. But, knowing the actor's past, his future will likely include more pizza and ice-cream binges to regain his bulk for the next action film.

Please don't try this at home.

Their fans are not such a stupid as you are all. You are just looking for something to talk about in this summer season that it is usually bored and there are no good stuff to talk about. We know Christian knows what he is doing and we absolutely trust on him. He is not that thin! he is just characterized for a role!

I'm sorry I don't meant to be so rude. I just wanna to say that his fans are not worried about his look at all. We know him very well and we know he is all right.

Not trying to be critical here, and I know you don't choose your ads personally, but I love how you said "Don't try this at home" when, directly to the right of your story was an advertisement for a weight-loss product!

I don't know if Bale's doing this the safe way or not, but I have heard that he saw a nutritionist when he lost weight for "The Machinist" and then gained it back rapidly. His way might, perhaps, be better than all this advertising with which we're constantly bombarded, telling us things like "Lose 20 pounds in two weeks!" People are already trying more dangerous things at home than Bale is doing, and their reasons aren't nearly as good.

Somebody please tell me if I'm wrong, but for what other movies besides The Machinist and The Fighter did Bale have a significant weight loss? To even mention the bulking up for Batman Begins is crazy, since he needed to regain the weight anyway! He's just a dedicated actor who is willing to go the extra mile for a role. This is not a bad thing. He is not dropping weight every other month like he has a eating disorder. What he is is a method actor and perhaps the best actor of our generation. So please just admire the man for his skill and dedication.
