UPDATE: 'Momlogic TV' drops Kate Gosselin, ex hubby Jon robbed; Reader's Poll included below

Kate Gosselin guest-hosted The View back in September

UPDATE: The Christmas holidays have proven to not bring much luck to former Jon & Kate Plus 8 stars Jon and Kate Gosselin.  On the heels of news about Kate's dismissal from Momlogic TV comes word from her former husband's representative that Jon's New York apartment was burglarized while he was visiting with the couple's children over the holidays.

When this latest story first broke, there was talk of a threatening note being left in the midst of the pilfered apartment.  Gosselin's attorney then revealed more details saying that Jon's favorite Louis Vuitton shoes has been ripped to shreads, electronics were stolen, furniture was destroyed and a the note with the word cheater was stabbed onto the dresser by way of a butcher knife.

As if this weren't enough, Gosselin's rep further implicated Jon's former girlfriend Hailey Glassman, who recently moved out of the New York apartment after accusing Jon of keeping thousands of dollars in rent money Hailey's family had sent the couple.  According to a statement released by Glassman's attorney, Anand Ahuja, "It appears to be a huge publicity stunt."  Ahuja further said, "The police investigation is still ongoing and we are sure the investigation will reveal someone is trying to frame Hailey.

New 'View' rip-off 'Momlogic TV' co-host Kate Cosselin dropped

Hopes of a reality show hosting gig for former TLC reality star Kate Gosselin have come to an apparent end as quickly as her marriage, according to several online news sources.  Apparently, execs behind Momlogic TV decided Gosselin's controversial personality was just too controversial.

It seems that while those connected to the show were initially happy enough with Gosselin's performance on the set of the pilot, which was filmed back in September, they have since had a change of heart.

Also in September, while The View regular co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck was on maternity leave, reality star Kate Gosselin of the now defunct ratings grabber, Jon & Kate Plus 8 was among the controversial fill-ins.  While on The View, the ladies asked Kate about her own rumored chatfest.  Kate didn't say much about it, only blathering off some rehearsed, "I will do whatever it takes to take care of my children" answer. However, subsequent reports revealed that she was indeed pegged to co-star in a very View-like talk show titled Momlogic TV alongside Lee Woodruff, Rene Syler and Paula Dean.  Momlogic TV is the would-be offspring of momlogic.com, a website filled with a mix of information and entertainment aimed at well, Moms. The website and the proposed talk show are owned by media giant Warner Bros.

Having only taped a pilot, the reports of Kate's separation from the project may be a moot point, as there are dozens and dozens of pilots shot that never see the light of day as a greenlit production.  Even so, while the news of Kate's firing is probably good news to those of us who are over her over-exposure, and probably merits a sign of relief from Barbara Walters and the other ladies over at The View, there's no doubt we haven't seen the last of the media-hungry mom.

Should the show proceed without its most controversial co-host, here's a closer look at the remaining three ladies.

Paula Dean   Of the co-stars, it's interesting that they've all supplemented their wealth and fame by becoming authors. Dean is arguably the most immediately recognized, having parlayed a healthy mix of southern charm and southern cooking to become the host of her own Food Network cooking show, as well as being a best selling cookbook author and restauranteur.

Lee Woodruff   Woodruff is the wife of ABC newsman Bob Woodruff.  She came to the forefront of the media following her husband's tragic injuries in 2006 while on assignment in Iraq.  She then remained in the spotlight by writing a book about their family and how they were coping with the ordeal.  That was followed by another book.  The second book being on parenting.

Rene Syler  Syler is a former CBS Early Show co-host and breast cancer survivor.  While promoting her 2007 book The Good-Enough Mother: The Perfectly Imperfect Book of Parenting, she revealed that she was fired from CBS while dealing with her breast cancer.

You named her right--media hungry mom. This lady has no shame. Advice to her: sell everything, get normal job and go back into the real world concentrating on your children. You do NOT need to make the kind of money these previous opportunities may have allowed you for you to support your children. We are only guessing here because they are too young to speak for themselves yet, boy when they are the world is going to want to hear that talk show, but would assume they would prefer a smaller home and stable environment with their mom home on a regular basis.

To diane - ice of other people to figure out Kate's life for her, lol! Do you worry that much about your own life?

Clearly Kate's affiliation with Barbara Walters was the reason she was pulled from the show. Like you said, The View doesn't want the competition, they were even running ads on tv last week bragging that they are all moms. Gee where did that come from? Barbara probably promised to back Kate in whatever she does if she pulled out of Mom Logic.

I think there was a question left out of this poll, "would you have liked Kate to be a part of the MomLogic talk show?" Since there were no appropriate choices, I didnt cast a vote. I really find it odd how so many women say Kate should get a minimum wage job in order to be able to spend more time raising her children. A minimum wage job would make it extremely difficult to support 8 children, no matter what size house they lived in. Or maybe the goal is to want her to work 2 or 3 jobs as some kind of punishment because you dont like her. Now THAT would sure allow her to spend more time with the kids! I would have enjoyed a pairing of Kate and Paula in a talk show setting as I like them both and they would have played off each others strengths. They both faced obstacles in their lives and found a way to support their family inspite of it. As much as I like Paula, I will now pass on MomLogic as I can see Paula on several shows already and I dont see her giving up her Food Network gigs.

Boy are people nasty when anyone says anything negative about Kate. Why is that? This woman is a mother of eight who has sold them to the highest bidder before the last six were born and is being praised for it. Our sense of dignity and privacy is gone in this country when parents can sell their children without an uproar from the American people as happened to these children.
As for Kate getting another job, I am in agreement with whoever said she should. If she were to allow the extended relatives back into her life and the childrens', she would have all the free babysitters she needed and no need for a paid nanny as well as downsizing drastically so as to not need whatever she is paying monthly now. 'Downsize' along with 'green' are the latest buzz words and she would do well to live within whatever means a normal job would give her--other mothers do work 2, 3, and 4 jobs. No one is suggesting this as punishment, this is reality.

Nasty? Words like "media hungry mom", "no shame", "sold her kids off to the highest bidder", now those are nasty comments. If you dont like her, that's fine, but the only ones who get really nasty are the ones who dont like her.

After reading some of your comments, I am inclined to agree "NOT A HATER"....I found it very interesting when I tuned into The View this morning, instead of their scheduled rebroadcast featuring LaToya Jackson as guest co-host (also from September when Hasselbeck was on maternity leave) Instead they re-ran one of the Kate Gosselin guest appearances.

Kelly, You are totally right, I should have included a pro-Kate answer. I'm updating the poll at your suggestion.

Thanks to everyone for checking out the article.

    Hi Jonathan,

I know they hit me today as well. Comments of why I did not have a low carb and suger free punch. I am a budget meals examiner! Not a low carb or suger free examiner. Not that I do not include those in my articles. But budget meals is not the first place I would look for those. Ah well. As you say...you got the hit! I like the article. Just my humble 2 cents...or maybe it would be more like 1/2 cent....ha ha.

    Cheers!
    Beth
