Fashion for EveryBODY event to raise awareness & celebrate beauty in everyone

For the seventh year in a row, Nashville-based Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee or EDCT will present their annual awareness-raising fundraiser/fashion show, Fashion for EveryBODY at 7pm on Thursday, November 4 at the Commodore Ballroom located inside the Vanderbilt Student Life Center at 310 25th Avenue South.

Acting as host this year will be Shane Tallant. "I'm more than excited to be part of an event that focuses on a very important topic. Eating disorders are not a laughing matter and affect millions," said the popular TV host. "If a fun night of music, fashion and culture can help raise awareness, I'm all for it," he continued.

Tallant gained national recognition as host of HGTV's home make-over series, Designed to Sell. Of course Nashville audiences know Shane from his recent weekday gig on Fox 17's Tennessee Mornings.

As the event's name might suggest, Fashion for EveryBODY isn't your typical fashion show in the traditional sense of the word.  Yes, there are gorgeous clothes, and yes the models are all beautiful, but that doesn't mean they're all waif thin like the images flooding the fashion magazines, and sadly the minds of impressionable young readers.  As the event's name implies, Fashion for EveryBODY celebrates the uniqueness of every body and features a variety of models who represent all walks of life and most importantly, champions the beauty of all body types.

Among the models participating this year are: Phran Galante, known about town for her tireless efforts on behalf of animal rights; singer Beau Davidson, who was recently chose to perform during the annual Jerry Lewis Telethon; Genma Holmes, who not only heads her own extermination business, but has enjoyed a successful modeling career; Arthur Kirkby, one of Music City's favorite hairstylists and an accomplished painter; Trish Vogel, former 80s girl-band Diva turned radio personality and Hilary Williams, country singer/songwriter/author/country icon offspring. Also walking the runway will be several more familiar Nashville faces, including: Miles Adcox, Shelli Warren, Ony, Alicia Boswell, Erika Kurre, Stacy Case, Jonathan Pierce, Chuck Beard and more.

Make-up for this year's runway models will be provided by Therapy Systems, with hair styled by Eye Candy. As for the clothes featured during Thursday night's Fashion for EveryBODY, the latest styles from area retailers: Ivey, Emmaline, Blush, Hemline, Nashville Clothing Company, Pickles & Ice Cream, Jigsaw London and UAL will be presented on the runway, along with original designer by a number of Nashville's best and brightest designers, including: Gent, Charles Lord, D'Michelle, and Madness Is. Topping off the model's looks will be jewelry from d.marlene jewelry and Stella & Dot

Anyone who's attended the event in the past knows that in its seven year history, it's quickly becoming on of Music City's most fun fundraisers.  A big part of the excitement of the evening comes via one of the event's biggest supporters, Milton White, a major player behind the scenes of Fashion For EveryBODY, who's returning for his fourth year. Of Thursday's fundraiser, Milton said, "I am excited to be a part of Fashion For EveryBODY for the 4th time. There is a great deal of satisfaction in knowing that I am part of a fashion oriented event that empowers people and encourages then to love who they are and how they look".

In addition the the runway show, Fashion For EveryBODY kicks off at 7pm with a silent auction featuring several celebrity items and great packages from local retailers. Also on board for Thursday's event, a performance by Cold River Records recording artist Katie Armiger, who's latest cd, Confessions of a Nice Girl was released just last month. Spinning the hits for the night will be Nashville's own Cale Carver, better known as DJCale.
