The HBO TV series “True Blood” became available today on PlayStation 3 and PSP game systems, Sony Computer Entertainment America announced.
Episodes of the vampire thriller are available as premium content through the PlayStation Store’s HBO section, Sony said.
PlayStation 3 is “the first gaming system to offer HBO original television programming,” said Patrick Seybold, a Sony publicist.
Episodes of “True Blood” are available from the first season to the present, and more episodes will be added as they become available.
The series is set in Louisiana, where a mind-reading barmaid encounters the undead under the leadership of Vampire Bill.
Anna Paquin won a Golden Globe award in 2009 for her performances on “True Blood,” and the series was named Favorite TV Obsession at the 2010 People’s Choice Awards ceremonies.
It has also won a variety of other Emmy, Golden Globe, Television Critics Association, Screamfest, Satellite and Motion Picture Sound Editors awards.
