Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen in Twillight
Fans of Twilight know the DVD came out on March 21 at 12.01 a.m. Parties all across the nation were being had -- but what if I told you, I know the character of Edward Cullen more deeper than most? What if I told you, I can give you an inside view of the characters of Twilight? A special gift to all the Twilighters out there who loves this genre? Call it my special contribution.
Enter the world of the Enneagram and learn the true secrets of why Edward feels so much pain – and I'm not talking about Bella's special scent.
The Enneagram can give you great insight to all things. I use to study the personality types with my favorite movie and television shows. I felt as if I knew them deeper -- even more then the writers that created them – or perhaps, I wished it to be.
Top five key signs to picking the right personality types:
- When learning the Enneagram, think about the core value of the person. What do they desire most?
- What fears do they show? Or not?
- Try to pin-point their healthy, average and unhealthy levels. Are they showing weakness, strength, ego, pain or anger when stressed? These are clues
- What is the one thing that makes them happy the most?
- What type of people are they hanging around? Some types associate with similar types. i.e. anger, heart and fear types (More on that later)
Now that we have the top key signs, lets look at Edward Cullen
- He likes to embrace his longing. Hanging out in Bella’s room as she sleeps. Even though the pain is hard to bare. Edward's type loves to embrace suffering and pain.
- Edward's been waiting as he says, “all his life” for Bella. His type can suffer in silence for that one true love.
- Edward not only wants to be unique, he wants to be special. He doesn’t want to be like all the other vampires -- he wants to showcase his individuality. He’s a vegan, for the art of it. Artist, like to suffer with their gifts.
- Edward likes to wallow in his pain, his type loves the depression side of things
- The Sensualist. Edward Cullen has it in spades! Remember he was born for the art of seduction.
- Edwards’s type tends to want comfortable things surrounding him. Light, trees, these aesthetics helps Edward -- especially in his time of social isolation and obsessive thought. We did see his room right?

I'm a four, no wonder people compared me to him in terms of mysteriousness
You make good points, but I think Edward is a 5 personally. Maybe he has a 4 wing, but his incredible unconditional love for Bella makes me think he's a 5. I'm a 4 (though I have 2 tendencies from my mother) and I don't think I could walk away from my true love solely for their benefit as Edward did in New Moon. The only reason he left was to give Bella a chance at a better life. Fives are not always realistic, but they act on what they think is logical, and I think Edward thought that by leaving Bella would forget him and have a normal, healthy life.
He definitely has some 4 traits (seduction, etc) but I don't think he WANTS to be so special, so unique. He wishes he could blend in. I think if he was really a 4, that more people would know about his special life :)
Just my opinion. I actually had this discussion with several friends who love Twilight and have also studied the Enneagram together. We thought maybe he was a 4, but decided he was a 5 due to the reasons I mentioned
edward is
Hi Paige...
Bella is a 5w4 wing, Edward is a 5w4 wing. The pairing is quite common regarding relationships. Edward is all about the pain, and loss. Fives could care about emotion. Look at Bella and how she deals with feelings and people in general Fives are loners. Fours who have five wings can seem like Fives, but they are more emotional. Like Snape in Harry Potter. Good debate though. Keep reading for more info
Hi Patrick, thanks for reading... I adore fours (ex), so I can spot them very well. Keep coming back! More on entertainment topics, I love figuring out my favorite characters! :-)
ooh correction Paige, Edward is a 4w5 wings. typo there! ;-)
i think he is not that self-centered to be 4w5.he puts others first i think.he is doubtful, security-oriented also wants to belong to a group- like to the good, not to the bad.so i suppose he is 6w5.he is like Scorpio in zodiacal terms. and Bella is like Pisces and also type 9w1.
edward is so cute.
