Every Hollywood entertainment that wants to break out into the global stratosphere goes out and wears black, paint their nails, eyes and lips a shocking color—as they tell the world, 'Look at me,' I’m not like everyone else! We see this time and time again with creative Nonconformist Enneagram types like Angelina Jolie, Kelly Fox, Lady Gaga, Prince, Michael Jackson and now Adam Lambert.
Why the Shock Factor?
To be seen, why else? They are doing what they are born to do. Love them or hate them they are acting out their nature! Enjoy the show!
Want to learn more about the Four type? Check them out! Shocking, not so much—if you understand the Enneagram.
What Fours Need:
- To NOT be like everyone else.
- To create an identity like no one else
- To become an individualist and stand out
-
To feel like no one else

What's not fair is some of us who work in Hollywood are not Enneagram Four types, but the industry is stacked in Fours' favor: if you don't want to go out to dinner commando, tongue-kiss an ostrich or reveal your entire past with a shrug and a smirk, the media assumes you've got something to hide and digs at you until it finds - or, in some cases, invents - it. I used to be a pop singer on Capitol but left the music business to go behind the camera in television production. Fame has followed me and people are starting to Google and follow me. I don't see it as "fun" the way Enneagram Fours do: I'm watching it approach in dread because I'm an Enneagram One and just want to save the world and get the job done. Others can have the glory. But it keeps following me. Even my old agent is emailing me. Any advice for Ones in the fame game because we have to be, not because we want to be?
Dear Reluctant Enneagram,
Well Onces if they were in media or the entertainment fields would be the accountant, the producer trying to raise money, and make it all work. Purist are at their best when they are working for a cause, in this case, making sure production in on time or things are in place. There are Ones who are actress like Jodie Foster, Katharine Hepburn or Martha Stewart, but remember Ones are best in some power roles like in politics (Hilary Clinton). The issues are that many types choose the wrong career for their types... but others think anyone can do what they want. I think not so much..would you be happy as a Michael Jackson type? No respecting One would want to be out there showing themselves as not perfected or in control. Focus on your strengths, leave the drama to the Fours.
Since I'm apart of the LGBT community using any ill term will get you deleted! Love and Peace not hate please on this site!
Reluctant Enneagram,
The only thing I can say to fame is try to stay removed from it as much as possible. You know the game, it has to be played if you want to work in Hollywood, but there are entertainers who have been successful at not being seen, every Johny Deep who is a Four/five wing uses that Five to move out of the spotlight... Remember you stress is at Four so you have it in you to place the game, but not so much.... the Two|Nine (wing), and Seven is your friend too. Use that personality to do what you can, and remove yourself from the dramas of the business.... good luck!
