The proof is in the pudding. The solar power industry is hot right now. Relatively speaking that is. A recent report issued by the US Solar Industry Trade Association for 2009 showed that the solar power sector caked on 17000 new jobs. That's pretty strong numbers considering we're coming out of a recession. The Recovery Act helped out a great deal. Giving companies motivation and money to get in the clean energy game. Solar power jobs are expected to continue to grow.

Despite the Great Recession of 2009, the U.S. solar industry had a winning year and posted strong growth numbers,” said Rhone Resch, SEIA president and CEO. “When the President looks back at how stimulus dollars were invested, he’s going to see that solar was one of the best returns on investments in 2009 for the American taxpayers. In addition to strong policies at the state and federal level, solar’s growth was driven by the emergence of new business models and declining prices. Consumers took notice that now is the best time to go solar.”

The bump in the solar power jobs industry is helped by three main factors. Residential, commercial, and public utilities all are thirsty for clean renewable energy.
