It is hard to believe, but it is almost time to begin registering your children for summer camps. The Morrison Family YMCA at Ballantyne begins registration for members on February 1st and registration for program members begins February 15th. Those with children in their preschool or afterschool programs were given priority registration beginning on January 18th.
As always, the Morrison YMCA will be offering a variety of half-day (9:00-1:00 pm) camp options ranging from outdoor adventure, sports-related camps, dance/cheerleading/gymnastics, several different themed camps, arts and crafts camps, and camps for teenagers. In addition to these choices, there will also be a new cooking camp, film and photography, and a sand volleyball camp at the Y’s new sand volleyball facility.
Should you need to enroll your child in a full-day camp, the Morrison YMCA now offers an Afternoon Exploration Camp or an Afternoon Sports Camp for an additional $70 (program members-$100). The afternoon camp runs from 1:00-4:30 and staff will transition your child from morning camp to the afternoon camp. If you need additional time, extended care is available from 7:00 am-9:00 am and 4:30 pm-6:00 pm at no extra charge. There are a couple of additional add-ons (swimming, overnight options, or art) that are also available for additional charges. Both the swimming and art are hour-long sessions held either prior to the start of camp or in the late afternoon.
Camp guides are available now at the Morrison YMCA entrance. At registration, you will need to bring a copy of your child’s current immunization records along with a voided check.

JCC camp registration begins next month as well for members and non members (on different dates).
