There's nothing like a good old-fashioned political rally, and the Daytona Chamber of Commerce has one on the fall calendar, specifically on Tuesday, October 19, at Daytona International Speedway between 4 and 7 pm. There will be food, beverages, music, prizes and WNDB-AM's Marc Bernier doing a live broadcast.
They call it a "HobNob" -- an opportunity for local voters to meet with and size up the candidates. Can't wait for the November 2 General Election? No problem -- there will be a straw vote ballot for several races and issues in Volusia County, including Governor, US Senate and House (Congressional) Districts 7 and 24, State Senate District 8 and State House District 26, County Council Districts 3 and At-Large, and municipal (city) elections in Daytona Beach, Holly Hill, Ormond Beach and others, Florida Constitutional Amendments and local elections.
Tickets are $20 each, and may be ordered by e-mailing lindsey@daytonachamber.com or calling her at (386) 255-0981 ext 225. Credit cards are accepted or checks payable to Daytona Regional Chamber can be mailed to PO Box 2676, Daytona Beach, 32115. You must have a ticket to attend.
