Otherwise mild mannered Congressman Frank Wolf (R-VA) wants change. Only, he's not hopeful.
Eric Holder is not responsive. Wolf calls. Wolf writes. Wolf emails. He howls. No response.
Congressman Wolf is a Congressman. Duh. Loretta King and Steven Rosenbaum in the Civil Rights Division refused to answer questions about the New Black Panther empowerment. They can't do that (legally)!
Yes They Can. Loretta King got her job as a "Presidential appointment with Senate confirmation" aka FOO fighter. The dismissal of the New Black Panther Party charges described her as a "30-year career employee." Is it because she is a 30 year employee or a Presidential appointee that Loretta King can refuse to answer Congressman's Wolf's questions, claiming the "privileged" nature of the information?
Who is privileged? Let us count the names. President Obama? Eric Holder? Loretta King? Steven Rosenbaum? The New Black Panther Party? Where's the ACLU when you really need them?
Just how dumb does Eric think we are? From Wolf's new July 22, 2009 letter:
If showing a weapon, making threatening statements, and wearing paramilitary uniforms in front of polling station doors does not constitute voter intimidation, at what threshold of activity would these laws be enforceable?
The Justice Department has claimed one of the New Black Panther thugs, Jerry Jackson, was a poll watcher and lived in the building where the polling place was located. Therefore, dismissal of charges against him were justified. Mr. Jackson has never lived in the building. His poll watcher status has never been validated by Justice. Another question in Congressman Wolf's letter.
"...your justification that Jackson lived at the building where the polling place was located is false. The polling place was at a high-rise at l221 Fairmount Street in Philadelphia...Jackson...resides at 813 North Parks Street in Philadelphia and has never resided at l221 Fairmount Street."
A disturbing new legal precedent set by Justice's New Black Panther empowerment is the post-behavior disavowal justification. In other words, I didn't mean it, really! Does post-behavior disavowal apply to post menopausal behavior?
...you cite the Party's "disavowal" of Shabazz and Jackson actions on its Web site as your justification for dismissing these charges...Can you provide an example of another case...when the defendant's post-behavior disavowal resulted in the department similarly dismissing the case?
