The New York Times, Washington Post and other traditional media outlets opted to ignore the Justice Department's dismissal of a Black Panther poll site intimidation incident, opening the door to election day chaos and violence.
Fox News and The Washington Times reported the story, already widely viewed on YouTube.
Hans Von Spakovsky, media-persecuted former Justice attorney, observes in the Washington Times editorial, Protecting Black Panthers.
If a Republican administration had done this, it would be front-page news and every civil rights group in the country would be screaming about it.
The House Judiciary Committee has asked for an explanation.
This no story story confirms media bias, actively protecting a popular President, and a double standard for judging Justice Department performance. The Bush administration was tested in public hearings on hiring practices and decisions the media and Democrats thought to be political.
There was no hiring imbalance, in spite of the intense scrutiny and myths permeating the left wing bloggosphere. The reality is the Voting Rights Section of Justice is a liberal lair of increasingly perverted enforcement actions.
Eric Holder, Obama's choice for Attorney General and likely the "decider" on the Black Panther case, assures us minorities will be treated more favorably. He seems to believe the Obama rhetoric, that minorities have special rights and privileges as compensation for real and imaginary past wrongs. Holder also believes we are a nation of racists.
The belief we are all racists informs the Black Panther decision. The wiser-than-white-Bush-Justice appointee sees a need for vigilantes like the Black Panthers, perhaps even a type of secret police, to ensure favored groups are guaranteed protection. Accurately, and in their own words,
one of the panthers turned toward the white poll observers and said "you are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker."
Crackers beware!
