Here's a look of some of this week's posts from around the Edublogs:
Jose Vilson provides a candid look at teenage love in a New York City high school.
Susan Ohanian highlights a poignant post that looks at the reality behind a school that has been labeled as "failing."
The Washington Teacher discusses a bloody brawl that erupted in the wake of the new discipline plan in the DC School District.
Rob Caloras reflects on what he views as Mayor Bloomberg's "authoritarian arrogance."
At Bridging Differences, Diane Ravitch wonders why people are willing to believe in "miracle cures" for educational problems.
Norm Scott posts a termination letter that was given to a New York City Teaching Fellow who was unable to find a position.
Jim Horn argues that the culture of "intimidation and bullying" that allegedly surrounds KIPP Schools has spread to the school's handling of teachers.
Caroline Grannan looks at alleged self selection and sorting at inner city charter schools which critics argue creates an unfair advantage over public schools.
Robert Pondiscio thinks that Michelle Rhee's attempts at a "kindler and gentler" approach may be a bit too late.
Finally, NYC Educator discusses the magical happenings that occurred as a result of wearing blue at the suggestion of UFT President, Randi Weingarten.

Comments
Michelle Rhee probably hired the same PR person as Randi Weingarten uses. Or maybe it's Randi herself. "Listen, Michelle, try to make it easier for us to sell out the Washington teachers like we did in NYC. Just tone it down a bit."
