There is actually a college in the United States that does not charge tuition.

Instead, College of the Ozarks in Missouri requires students to work 15 hours per week at one of their 90 campus businesses.

“Welcome to Hard Work U, where students don’t pay for tuition, work for an education, graduate without debt, and learn character,” states the Christian college’s website.

“Debt is a bad idea,” believes Jerry C. Davis, President of College of the Ozarks. The school openly discourages debt and doesn’t participate in any government loan programs.

COLLEGE OF THE OZARKS RUNS MANY COLLEGE BUSINESSES

The Fruitcake and Jelly Kitchen is one of over 90 campus businesses where students work for 15 hours per week to pay their cost of education to College of the Ozarks.
