Those who enjoyed J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter Series, will love The Society of Sylphs by Lea M. Hill. One needs only think, ‘autism whisperer’, to fully understand what Lea brings to this new branch of fantasy literature. Lea has a deep affinity for children on the autism spectrum and is highly in tune with them. Heretofore unknown author, Lea M. Hill, brings her very special talent as an intuitive to the world of autism awareness and fantasy literature.
Here is what Lea has to say about the book….. The Society of Sylphs is about a young sylph named Luranna who is having a hard time fitting in because she doesn't want to deliver messages - which is what sylphs do!Fortunately, Luranna meets Eddie, a non-speaking autistic boy, who understands her. Luranna and Eddie develop a friendship that leads to personal growth for each of them. Eddie helps Luranna overcome her fears so she can deliver messages as well as any sylph...and Luranna helps Eddie cope with family tragedy.Together, they learn ways to balance the drive for self-expression with the desire to be a part of the societies they belong to.
On Lea’s website is a page where children, with autism
or neuro-typical, are encouraged to submit their artwork after reading an excerpt from her forthcoming book, The Society of Sylphs. There is even a Sylph Society blog! Lea’s progress and comments can also be followed on her twitter page as she moves towards completion of this exciting new literary work.
