Review - Gypsy Crystal - Parnormal

Gypsy Crystal by Lorrie Unites-Struiff

Rita Moldova has a secret.  She’s a tough detective who’s respected for solving cases and catching the bad guys, and she does it with the help of the amulet she wears for protection. Her mother and uncle, who run a local eatery, are both firm believers in gypsy lore and legend, and the necklace has made a dent in Rita’s dismissal of old country ways.  Her crystal, when dangled over the eyes of the deceased, reveals to Rita the last person the victim saw.  At least it does until she investigates the death of some local prostitutes—all dead under the same strange circumstances.

When handsome agent, Matt Boulet comes to her department seeking help in finding the perp responsible for the string of dead women, he doesn’t share everything about the case.  He’s not holding back his sexual attraction, but there’s something he’s not telling.  Rita’s determined to find out.

Gypsy Crystal by Lorrie Unites-Struiff is filled with surprises.  This awesome novella just released March 2010 by Eternal Press mixes modern-day reality with fantasy, but makes you wonder if what is suggested could really happen.  The hair on your arms just might stand on end.  This fast read is guaranteed to keep your attention until the last page, and then you might not want to turn out the lights. What seems far-fetched suddenly becomes all too real and scary.  Ms. Unites-Stuiff does a great job of hooking you from the beginning, and her descriptions are so great, you’ll actually believe you’re in the coroner’s office smelling the formaldehyde. You may be a naysayer when it comes to the paranormal, fantasy stuff, but this book just might make you a believer.

Eternal Press is one of the few, if only, small publishers who offers Novella-length work in print as well as download.  This story will soon be available at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble
