Why not make your own salad dressing? Blue cheese is a favorite of mine. You can adjust the "chunkiness" of the blue cheese and can make it lower fat by using low fat or fat free sour cream and mayonnaise. This dressing is great to put on a side salad or to dip celery sticks served alongside hot wings. I use something similar to to this dressing recipe in my Blue Cheese Potato Salad.
Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing
- 1 24 oz. container of sour cream
- 1/4 c. mayonnaise
- 1/2 c. blue cheese crumbles (you can adjust this according to your taste)
- 1 TBS. vinegar
- 1 garlic clove, minced
Mix all ingredients together in a medium size bowl. Refrigerate for at least an hour for flavors to marinate together.
