Fresno Monastery to host retreat, lectures on the Theotokos

Gerondissa Markella and The Monastery of the Theotokos, the Life Giving Spring invite all interested Orthodox and inquirers to a spiritual retreat, “The Most Holy Theotokos”, presented by Constantine Zalalas. The retreat will be held Friday, August 14 – Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Saint Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center in Dunlap, CA. The weekend retreat will include a vigil at the Monastery on Friday night, morning and evening prayer services on Saturday in addition to the retreat presentation, and Divine Liturgy on Sunday.

Zalalas is a noted Orthodox Christian from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He is a very pious and faithful man who has led numerous retreats at the Monastery of the Theotokos the Life Giving Spring, in addition to being a guest speaker and retreat master in many other regions for the Greek Archdiocese.

Accommodations are available at Saint Nicholas Ranch either in the Lodge Rooms or the Dormitory Rooms. The costs include lodging and meals from Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast after Liturgy.  Single adults can stay in shared lodging for $150 for the weekend. Families have the option of the family lodge ($315 for a family of 4, with each additional person $30), or the family dorms ($300 for a family up to 6 people, $20 each additional person).
