When you first step into ART at the Four Seasons, you will immediately notice the beautiful collection of artwork by the region’s contemporary artists. Dining here is a real treat with a menu focusing on Pacific Northwest cuisine and a décor of highly detailed sculpture featuring woods native to the area.
The floor-to-ceiling glass walls offer some of the best views in the city of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the main dining room while a smaller intimate private dining area is also available for a business luncheon or family function. Don’t miss the 12-foot wall of wine where guests may select a vintage from Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. (There are more than 100 bottles available by the glass).
We had heard so much about local acclaimed chef Kerry Sear and his signature cooking so we were thrilled to have the opportunity to dine at ART. Sear works closely with local farmers to offer some unique twists on traditional staples.
There are so many fabulous items to choose from here, including crisp duck breast, lamb steak and wild king salmon but our server had a few well-appointed suggestions for us. The smoked chicken with creamy white polenta was simply amazing, complemented by a delicious side of grilled spring onions.
The dry-aged beef was heavenly – a tender and juicy grilled ribeye topped with creamy Oregon blue cheese butter (does it get any better than that?) The side of spinach arrived with crisp garlic chips but it was the green onion butter atop the Yukon gold potatoes that made us swoon.
Lunch guests typically sit at the counter where they can watch sushi chefs prepare foie gras rolls or ahi tuna sashimi. There are also a variety of sandwiches, including Kobe beef pastrami, a hanger steak burger and club sandwich. The TV trays are popular lunch items for those on the go served with a selection of soup, salad, sandwich and dessert.
The Four Seasons is located within walking distance of the Seattle Art Museum and is situated directly on the bay across from The Pike Brewing Company, which serves up some of the best local beers.
