Baby kids can read: Lesson five
Materials: Mommy and daddy cards used in Lessons One, Two, Three, and Four.
Session One:
1. Present the word ‘mommy’ and ask your child to identify it.
2. When your child has identified it, continue to hold the word ‘mommy’ in front of your child.
3. Now pick up the word ‘daddy’ in the other hand.
4. Ask your child to identify this word.
5. Praise your child for identifying both words.
6. Repeat this session twice. Remember to wait at least thirty minutes before starting another session before going to Next Session.
Next Session:
1. Show both words ‘mommy’ and ‘daddy’ to the child.
2. Ask your child to point to ‘mommy’ or to point to ‘daddy.’ Repeat Next Session twice.
Remember to wait at least thirty minutes before doing so. When you feel positive that your child not only knows ‘mommy’ and ‘daddy’ but can differentiate ‘mommy’ from ‘daddy,’ then your child is ready to learn ‘self’ words. Learning these words begins in Lesson Six.
