Mother's Day gifts that bring relief from stress, aches and pains

Relief. That's something moms of an age or life stage can always use. Whether it's stress relief or relief from body aches and pains. This gift guide focuses on just that. These are things moms really want that may not even know exist or that feel like a real treat any day. Like in all my gift guides, I've personally tested everything in this story, so you know it'll be good.

Hot and Cold Therapy

The Cherry Stone Pillow from ComfortHouse.com brings relief from pain and the heat of summer. It can be used for both hot and cold pain relief by putting it in the microwave for 3 minutes or freezer for 45. Stays warm or cool for over and hour. Plus it smells really good like sweet cherries. And its machine washable. Perfect size for lower back pain, ankles, neck. It also just helps pregnant mamas beat the heat in the summer without the bitter sting of some freezable products. This can cool you down for a low cost on the go or at home a/c or not. I really

Along these same lines is the Corn Critter Company's Chenille Corn Bag. There's no aromatherapy with this one. Just simple comfort. This heating pad made out of muslin and cracked corn and covered in soft chenille fabric. No batteries or cords needed. Just pop in the micro for about a minute and apply. They feel great and they stay toasty for quite some time. The corn also provides some weight with the heat, for extra relief on achy knees and such.

For a massage whenever mom wants it - try the Homedics Shiatsu Massage Pillow. This pillow is not for sleeping! Instead you can turn on the heat and the relief with this baby rubbing your tired shoulders, feet, and everything else. It comes with a warning to not use more than 20 minutes at once to avoid over-stimulation but you'll want to 'cause it feels GOOD! (Pregnant women should ask their doctors before using any massage products.)

Moisturizing Gel Booties from CVS can be popped in the fridge then slipped on your feet for a cooling relief from summer heat and to moisturize those feeties. This is like an at home pedi treatment without any work. You can sit and relax with them on or do housework if you must. They're basically socks lined with a gel insert that kinda feels squishy. For optimum moisturizing, put on lotion first.

Aromatherapy and such

Kameleon Healing Muscle Relief Oil works surprisingly well and smells good. A few drops of this stuff brings relief, much like Icy Hot does, but without the overpowering minty smell. Instead, you smell, well, good and fresh. It's even safe for pregnant women, unlike Icy Hot. (Using 1/2 the regular amount is recommended for preggos). Being I'm pregnant, I get lots of aches and pains. I have my hubby rub 2 drops of this oil on sore spots and they feel better fast and the smell is relaxing too. Read about all the oils used in it HERE.

Aromatherapy Amulet necklaces from Amulets Life are really unique and refreshing. This aromatherapy neckwear holds a few drops of essential oil inside of a natural stone pendant. The oils slowly diffuse through a mahogany wick and you smell a nice refreshing or stimulating fragrance throughout the day. There are several different stones and essential oils available to suit the needs of the wearer. Check those all out HERE.

Balancing Chakras

Abrione’s Chakra Masques bring surprising relief. They come in a tube with little containers of different color masks that correspond to different chakras. You put them all out in front of you and pick the color that calls to you. That one, the instructions say, is the one you need that day because it is that chakra that needs to be balanced. It may sound weird, but I feel like it really works. They're really relaxing and they bring a nice glow to your skin too. Read about each chakra HERE.

Just for the bath

Sulori's Sweet Orange and Mint Spa Salts have peppermint and sweet orange to uplift and stimulate the senses. This smells so good and feels good as you soak. All of the Sulori products are all-natural and organic that incorporates botanicals, herbs and pure essential oils for aromatherapy benefits.

Blooming Lotus Sore Muscle Soak smells as refreshing as the name sounds. It's minty and revitalizing as it eases pain and muscular tension, reduce swelling, relax the nervous system, and eliminate toxins from the body.

Adovia Dead Sea Mud and Salts come straight from the Dead Sea, which has many more nutrients and minerals then most oceans. These salts are enriched with 21 minerals like magnesium, calcium, zinc, potassium and more. The mud has disinfecting properties, while moisturizing and revitalizing. Mud from the Dead Sea is known to cure skin disorders through strengthening the skin tissues, maintaining the chemical balance of the skin, stimulating blood circulation and eliminating toxins from the skin. Plus it feels nice and cool going on and so relaxing. You can also use it heated up on sore body spots.

Fraiche makes some great soaps and what they call bath swizzles that bring customized relief, based on each mom's preferred scents. I really enjoy their Lavender Fields Swizzle and Soap. They have a nice fresh soft scent that lets your mind relax as you breathe in the instantly sweet air all around you. Ahhh! All of Fraiche's products are hand made in Lewisville, Texas with certified organic ingredients and many also include goat’s milk to luxuriously moisturize the skin.

LUSH makes a nice relaxing gift pack called Serenity. It has their fig and leaves soap, bathos bubble bar slice, butterball bath bomb, Ceridwen's luxury bath melt and ring of roses buttercream bar. Refrigerate the buttercream bar and make them the perfect refresher to revive you in the summer heat! Nice stuff! Like all of lush's products these feel and smell like a real treat and provide much needed relaxation.

For your home

The Himalayan Salt Shop has some awesome lamps that not only look cool and feel relaxing just to look at them. But they also cleanse the air in your home. Heated salt crystal lamps are natural ion generators. The Himalayan Salt Shop has lamps made out of natural salt rocks in a variety of shapes. The coolest: their Bowl of Fire lamps. Read all about the healing properties of salt lamps HERE. Use coupon code "nextsalt" for 10% off your order.

WondaWedge designed by a physiotherapist for proper back support. You can bring it wherever you go or just sit around on the couch, bed or floor. This baby takes a few minutes to inflate but once you do, it's pure comfort. Inflate to your desire support level and sit back. I've got mine inflated about three-quarters of the way. It looks kinda weird but when you sit back, it's perfect.
