The new movie based on the popular children's book 'Where the Wild Things Are' hits theaters this weekend. The film is based on Maurice Sendak’s beloved 1963 children’s book and it is getting good early reviews. (Check out the trailer at the bottom of this story!) Monsters, Inc. is a great kids DVD starring friendly monsters voiced by the likes of John Goodman, Billy Crystal and others. It gives a "behind the scenes look" at monster scare tactics with a happy ending. I love this movie and so do both of my daughters.

For parents, there's an interesting interview with the new Wild Things movie director Spike Jonze at NPR with all sorts of interesting details about the making of the movie and the casting of the kid actor who'd never acted before this movie.
