Kids two and up will enjoy the things in my gift guide for active one year olds as well as the following cool gift ideas (all tested and approved by my children)... (Some might also enjoy the gift ideas in my guide for active 3 year olds.)
Early Rider Bike from TykeRider.com - The Early Riders are bikes without pedals. They are super cool looking and teach kids balance. Unlike tricycles, the Early Rider lets little kids feel like a big kid. They also improve self-confidence and motor skills. I was skeptical at first, but once my 2 year old and 3.5 year old daughters took this bike out for a spin I saw the appeal of theese popular European bikes. They're made especially for tots 20 months and up. The Early Rider is made from wood and has an adjustable seat to grow with your tot. This is a gift built to impress! Don't forget to add a helmet to this gift for safety.
Radio Flyer Deluxe Steer & Stroll Trike - I bought this trike for my daughter's 2nd Christmas. It's a great starter trike because it has a handy parent steering pole. This lets tots think they're doing all the work and feel like a big kid but parents still have control to stop them from turning into the street, helping up hills and even just using it as a push toy until they're ready to pedal by themselves. Once you get to that stage, the pole comes off. The parent bar also helps you from having to bend over to get them going too. Don't forget to add a helmet to this gift for safety too.
Elefun by Hasbro Elefun is fun in a box for little ones. It teaches coordination, colors and counting. This game consists of a cute blue elephant who blows out red, green and yellow butterflies from his trunk. Youngsters try to catch the butterflies with a net. Elefun is fun, pure and simple. It brings lots of laughs as my girls and my husband and myself each grab a net and start trying to catch lots of butterflies. Elefun is made for 3-6 year olds. But younger kids can play with adult supervision (so they don't eat the butterflies). This makes a great family game starter! It's simple so you can easily teach the rules and there's no waiting for anyone's turn. Plus, you can make up any rules you like that best fits your family.
