Soapourri's Eyeball Soaps
Halloween is just over a week away, but there's still time to get your home looking spooky with a touch of cooky and no ooky.
Eyeball Soaps ($6.00, soapourri.com)
Get some extra looks at all of your sinks... and get the added bonus of getting your kids to want to wash their little hands. My toddler can't get enough of these! The soaps are recommended for kids three and up, but my 2.5 year old enjoys watching the eyeball watch her as she moves it around.
Milk Jug Ghosts (free)
I made these last year with daughter when she was about 15 months old and we had a blast. Plus what a great use of milk jugs before you throw them into the recycle bin. Details on how to make milk jug ghosts for free at FamilyFun.com.
Pumpkinhead scarecrows (free)
You can make a pumpkin head scarecrow using your pumpkin and stuff you find around your house. You can stuff him with towels or even leaves you sweep up! You can get instructions HERE if you need some. You can also just buy a kit where you just put your pumpkin on as the head. I bought two in last year's after-Halloween sales and we used them this year!
Translucent Spooky Window Posters ($6.99, thecompanystore.com)
This is a great way to decorate for Halloween and keep nosy little trick or treaters from seeing what you're up to inside your house. They're mess free too. We have a "Skully" up on the window near our front door. It was greeted by a big "ooohhh" by my toddler as I put it up.
Halloween Colored Light Bulbs
And for a simple but green decorating idea... use orange and black compact flourescent lightbulbs. They'll last you for years if you just put them in every October! More info HERE.
