Dads are special people. So something besides a tie, socks and new cologne are in order. Here are a few ideas. (For new dads, check out my new parents gift guide too. Also, stay tuned for several family gift guides with more ideas for dads.)
Tongaroa Tiki men’s necklace gives dad a cool neckware that wards off evil spirits and lets the baby he’s holding have a good time playing with it. Hand-carved by Tiki Tony in California. Made from sustainable woods. BettyBelts.com supports envirofriendly causes too.
Tokyo Boy Tokibot clock is a super cool gadget for dad’s desk at work so he knows how much longer he will be away from his babies during the work day.
The Grapeseed Company’s Mojito Man Organic Shave and Skin Care is a nice pick me up for tired Dads. The collection includes prep scrub, shave gel and moisture mist. It smells great, is refreshing and can help get a better shave and reduce ingrown hairs.
DadGear Diaper Bag keeps dad looking manly but still packing all of the supplies he need to handle the baby all day by himself. This is a good quality bag that can take a beating too.
Mr Beer Home Beer Kit has everything you need to start dad on a new hobby. It has a fermenter, bottles, and more. Dad can be giving out samples of his home brew by the time the BCS championship game rolls around. It take only two weeks to brew! Plus, you can get older kids into the science of food by letting them help in the brewing (not the tasting, of course). Added bonus, you can pick one of these babies up at your local CVS in a last minute gift hunt.
iSound 2-in1 charger and backup battery for iPhones and iPods provides up to 30 hours of additional battery life! Good stuff. I could use one of these for every portable device I have. Check the specifics and make sure it goes with your iPod. iSound makes lots of other cool iPod accessories for your music loving daddys.
We're in the middle of basketball season, so let Daddy show his team allegiance with official NBA gear from the official NBA Store. There are some really comfy ones. A good one to try - the Boston Celtics Performance Fleece Hooded Sweatshirt. They're last year's champs, if you didn't know and this style keeps the heat in but lets the sweat out. Good choice to keep daddy-o feeling fresh and smelling hugable.
My husband's personal favorite item he owns is his Playstation 3. I got it for him last year for his birthday. It's probably the most expensive thing I've ever bought him but it is also probably the most appreciated and used too. He finds it a great way to relax at the end of the day after our daughters are asleep. Dads that work really hard at home and work definitely deserve a little play time and when they kids get older they can play with dad. The PS3 quality is fantastic. The games are amazing. And best yet for the whole family - it plays both DVDs and BluRay disks. This will be a big hit for gamers or sports lovers.

I like them all except the tiki necklace. I agree with you about give dad some space to blow off steam in front of the console, but I think the Wii is far more family (and wife) friendly.
Good stuff, consider me a fan.
nah itseems stupid
Hey I got one of those exact Tiki's a while back as a gift! It's on my desk, cool little thing!
