A new poll by Consumer Reports shows that most American parents will either hold off on vaccinating their children against the H1N1 (swine flu) virus or won't vaccinate them at all.
Nearly 2/3 of the parents who responded to the poll said that they'd either wait or refuse the vaccine. 50% said that they would wait to vaccinate their children, mostly due to concerns about side effects of the vaccine. 35% said that they would definitely vaccinate their children.
43% of the parents said that they weren't overly worried about their children contracting H1N1, and an equal amount said that other parents were overreacting.
The poll had a 3% margin of error.
Over 1500 people responded to the telephone poll between September 2-7.
The results, if accurate, mean that some of those who are most vulnerable to the swine flu are going to be unprotected against it.
Parents, will you get the H1N1 vaccine for your children? For yourself? What about the seasonal flu shot?

I am a nanny, and don't have kids of my own. I can see where there are some worrying studies about vaccinations and young kids, but if they're over a certain age, why not get them vaccinated? It's even riskier not to. I have asthma, so as I child we weren't left with much choice. I still get flu shots to this day. I don't know... I think this is a result of only frightening information getting out to parents instead of the full spectrum of pro's and con's.

Don't let anyone take this vaccine. No one. It is has had little to no testing on it and the threat or risk of danger has been blown way out of proportion. This vaccine is a scam and it poses more dangers to all of us than does the swine flu.
I would normally pray for all of you Americans but since I don't believe in a God, I just hope you moronic sheep all come to your senses soon before you kill us all.
Megan, this "frightening information" as you call it is necessary, as it is the only thing that provides balance against all the pro-vaccine info out there. I don't need studies to tell me vaccines are not safe. Injecting unnatural substances into your body via an unnatural route of entry can't be good for you--it's common sense. Studies won't show you the long-term effects either. Most will only look at the immediate effects. I have not been vaccinated in over 20 years and have rarely gotten sick. If I have, I am over it in a day. Let your body's natural abilities fight the infection for you. Ever wonder why you have asthma? I have asthma too, but it has nearly disappeared since I stopped being vaccinated. It only makes sense that your body over-reacts to foreign particles, etc. because it has been conditioned to do so via the vaccination. We must stop listening to these so-called "experts" and think for ourselves. Why is vaccination for such a mild disease being pushed so much? Hmmm.

Woah, wait a minute. I've actually studied (in a college classroom) both sides of this argument here, and there are valid points. I think that vaccines are controversial, but I don't think they are 100% useless or 100% damaging. And excuse me? Not to be rude here, but I had influenza and pneumonia just a few months ago, (in May) and I was hospitalized thanks to having asthma and getting that sick. All of my doctors told me I should have gotten a flu shot, so I made sure to get one this year. I didn't the last two years, and look what happened. A mild disease? It's the flu, some get it and shake it off, others get it and it can kill them. We're being vaccinated to keep it from spreading.

When the government forces the vaccination on our children and our children start dying from it, is when the revolution begins.
Fred Burks, the National Intelligence Examiner has the best reporting of the facts on vaccines that I've found. Yes, the history shows the vaccines are thousands of times more deadly than the disease according to undisputed data. That's strong, and that's what the data reveal. I recommend Fred's articles.
Kim, the moment that 2/3 of the American people refuse the vaccination is when the revolution begins. The moment that the kids of the 1/3 who are vaccinated, begin dying, is when the violent revolution begins.
Megan, have you considered the possibility that your asthma might be related, at least in part, to autoimmune conditions resulting from the large number of vaccine shots you have had in your lifetime?
There are quite a few people with asthma who believe this is the case. A good friend suffering from Gulf War Syndrome believes that the untested vaccines he received prior to Gulf War I are at least partly responsible for his illness.
I would rather risk this rather mild flu than put mercury-laden preservatives into my body, or injected squalene which has been shown to be a contributing factor in Gulf War Syndrome (way nastier than the flu). I suppose if smallpox was still around I might let someone jab me with a needle they poked into a cox-pock... but these are not your grandfathers's vaccines, they have adjuvants = toxins added to "turbocharge" the immune system's response in an unnatural fashion like to cause illness in at least some of it's victims.

A close friend of mine was forced by her employer to take the swine flu shot in late 1970's. Within 3 days she could not walk as the paralysis slowly made its way up her body, including her lungs (this is the killer). About 2 weeks after getting the shot all she could do was blink. It took three months in the hospital, one year of rehab and lots of medication to slowly reverse this and she is still not the same. The additives put into these shots are disgusting and poisonous under any other circumstances. No thank you.
the pharama industries and military complex/bio engineers are making these deedly disease by splice and dice. Then companies such as baxter make a so called vaccine which is not tested and sold to all governments of the world for billions.

Are you a parent wondering whether or not to inoculate your children? Ask yourself a few simple questions:
Have I ever seen any data that shows the flu vaccine to actually prevent the flu? There is none. More people get the flu after the shot,then without receiving it.
Note the following: In 2003 when the CDC recommended adding the age group of children 4 years old and younger to receive the yearly flu shot, that age group's yearly death toll from flu skyrocketed. This statistic shows the shot actually instigated an increased occurrence of the flu in that age group, and not only did not prevent harm but increased the death rate.
Ask yourself: The toxic elements that they are, if we would never permit our children to ingest Mercury and Formaldehyde and Aluminum by mouth, what in heaven's name makes us think they will be any less deadly or harmful, injected directly into a child's bloodstream? It's a no brainer. Promote natural immunity in your children. Finally it is the best way!
