X-Men Origins: Wolverine tops the list of DVD and Blu-ray releases this week.
Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine's violent past and how he became the Weapon-X trained killer that he is. Along the way, he meets several legends from the Marvel X-Men universe including Gambit and Deadpool. Logan's relationship with Victor Creed - better known as Sabretooth- is also explored and we find out how Logan became the mutant anti-hero known as Wolverine.
As an avid comic book reader and nerd afficianado I could write for paragraphs on all that was wrong with this movie from the point of view of someone familiar with the origins of this character in the source material, but I think my friends over at bigshinyrobot.com do just fine. That said, however, I could one-hundred percent see how so many people really liked this movie as summer blockbuster, popcorn-eating fun.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is coming out with its fourth season on DVD today. The show, which stars Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, and Danny DeVito, follows a group of egotisitcal friends (who frequently refer to themselves as "The Gang") through all of their terrible exploits as they try to run an unsuccessful Irish bar.
This show just may be one of television's best-kept secrets. It doesn't seem to have a huge audience, but a very loyal one to make up for it. If you have never checked out Sunny you can get the first three seasons on Amazon for a pretty reasonable price. I have watched this show from the beginning and have enjoyed every episode, but I don't think it's for everyone. Re-runs are currently airing on FX so I recommend checking out a few of these before committing to buying any DVD sets with this one.
On one final note, Sunny fans should be happy to know that FX has ordered enough episodes that it will at lease be running for another 3 seasons -including the upcoming fifth season.

Ash is back, again!... again! Universal is putting out another release of Sam Raimi's cult classic, Amry of Darkness in the form of Army of Darkness: Screwhead Edition on DVD and Blu-ray. Special features are to include a "Creating the Deadites" featurette, an alternate ending, and the original theatrical trailer for the film; the Blu-ray version will include all of those as well, but also have "U-Control" and "BD Live" features.
I shouldn't have to tell you that this is a great, fun flick. If you don't already own a copy of this then this is the latest and greatest edition of the film that I would recommend picking up!

Wrapping up this week's releases is the film, Camille, starring James Franco and Sienna Miller. You can check out my full review of the film here, but I'm not giving this one a strong recommendation. While it's not terrible and does have some charming moments, Camille just doesn't deliver.
Silas (Franco) is the only man Camille (Miller) has ever loved and their wedding day is here. Camille has planned the perfect honeymoon to Niagara Falls with her new husband, but Silas is a man on parole with a sordid past. He hopes to use the honeymoon as a way to escape parole to Canada, but shorty after the honeymoon starts things take a tragic turn when the new couple is involved in a motorcycle accident. Though she seems fine, Silas starts to have serious doubts that Camille actually survived the accident and the two continue on to their destination honeymoon and on an incredible journey that becomes a journey of self-discovery and disbelief for both of them.
Other notable releases this week: Easy Virtue • Deadgirl • Grey's Anatomy (S5) • Big Bang Theory (S2) • CSI: Miami (S7) • My Name is Earl (S4) • Sanctuary (S1) • An American Werewolf in London Special Edition • Private Practice (S2) • Marvel X-Men (V.3 & V.4) • Van Helsing (Blu-ray) • Hero (Blu-ray)
