The highly anticipated movie The Twilight Saga: New Moon from Summit Entertainment will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the USA and Canada. It is the sequel to Twilight that was released a year ago on March 21, 2009 and sold over 3 million on its first day. A similar sellout is expected for this one as well. There will be a 2-Disc DVD and single disc Blu-ray versions available worldwide. It continues of the story of mortal Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen's romance and the growing intensity as ancient secrets threaten to destroy them. Edward leaves Bella as their romance becomes too dangerous and he feels that is the only way to keep her safe. Bella becomes increasingly reckless and tests fate as that is how she is able to glimpse at Edward once more in visions. When her concerned friend Jacob Black, a member of the Quileute tribe, saves her from the brink, she finds herself in more danger as she uncovers mysteries of the supernatural world. The fate of Edward and Bella lies in the hands of the Volturi, a coven of the most dangerous vampires. This second installment is the bridge between the first Twilight and the third, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (releasing in theaters June 30, 2010).

Released on the same day (March 20, 2010) will be Twilight in Forks: The Saga of the Real Town on DVD. It is a documentary of the real town of Forks that was made famous by the Twilight books and movies. This is every Twilight fan's chance to witness the real town that Stephanie Meyer based her books on. You will get to meet the townspeople such as the Chief of Police, the Forks Outfitters employee who gets mistaken for Bella, and the vampire transplant who plays the real-life role of Alice. You will get to visit Forks High School and hear self-described Jacob's grandfather tell the legend of how the Quileutes descended from wolves. After watching the documentary, you will have a better understanding of why Forks and La Push made for a perfect setting for this saga. The DVD will be available at all major retailers such as Best Buy and Amazon.com.
Similar to the first Twilight release, there will be many different exclusives available. Some are already up for pre-order. For all Twilight fans and collectors, remember to place your order early to ensure you do not miss out!

New Moon will be released in a collector's SteelBook metal case for both the 2-Disc DVD and Blu-ray versions. The front cover design has embossed artwork. You can pre-order the presell card now at BestBuy.com for $10.00 each (2-Disc DVD, Blu-ray). It will be a deposit towards the actual release day price you would be paying. It will also be available in stores starting Friday, January 29, 2010. Target USA
There will be a 3-Disc Deluxe Edition DVD with a bonus collectible film cell. There will also be a 2-Disc Deluxe Edition Blu-ray with a bonus collectible film cell. The film cell is an authentic reproduction of a cell from the filming of The Twilight Saga: New Moon contained within a beautiful glossy photo. Each is individually numbered with gold foil lettering and measures approximately 5"X7". The film cell will be one of 250 available collectible cells.

Make sure there is a Target sticker on the front of the slipcover that states the DVD or Blu-ray contains the collectible film cell. There is one version that has all the bonus Target-exclusive content, but no film cell; and the version that has everything AND the film cell. The slipcover artwork of these two are also different.
Walmart USA
There will be a Walmart-exclusive The Ultimate Fan Edition available in DVD and Blu-ray with bonus footage to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The Ultimate Fan Edition comes in a collectible lenticular packaging. It includes a 7-minute sneak peek of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse which begins with an exciting behind-the-scenes look at the production of the newest film in the franchise. Included will be interviews with stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, as well as with series-creator Stephenie Meyer. They will be integrated with revealing, on-the-set footage of some of the key scenes and sets from the upcoming movie. This first-look at The Twilight Saga: Eclipse then concludes with the world premiere of an actual scene from the film between Bella and Edward that will surely have Twilight fans swooning. If you were planning on purchasing Twilight in Forks: The Saga of the Real Town, you can get The Ultimate Fan Edition in DVD and Twilight in Forks: The Saga of the Real Town packaged together only at Walmart. Borders USA
The DVD exclusive will have its own exclusive packaging and comes with a two-toned medallion necklace. The gold side has a wolf-pack tattoo, the silver side has the Cullen crest and it comes with a silver chain. Bonus material includes: Previously unreleased Extended Scenes; Interviews with cast members Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, The Cullen Family, The Wolf Pack, The Volturi and Director Chris Weitz; Unrivaled red carpet footage from the movie premiere; and Front row seats to The Twilight Saga: New Moon Webcast. The offer expires April 3, 2010 or when supplies are depleted. No rainchecks will be given. It can also be purchased right now at retail price separately. The New Moon Vintage Keepsake Box "Hero's and Villains" features popular characters from the sequel to the Twilight phenomenon.
Future Shop Canada
The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD & Blu-ray versions will be available at Future Shop in a collectible SteelBook metal case. It will also come with a free bonus Twilight SteelBook (empty case with no discs; film can be purchased separately if you wish). They are very limited and sell out quickly. Although they do not ship outside of Canada, you can find assistance from Canadians at SteelBook Hunterz or you can look for auctions on eBay.com.

United Kingdom (UK) Releases
New Moon will be available in single-disc DVD, 2-Disc DVD and single-disc Blu-ray versions at many UK retailers on March 22, 2010. The single-disc DVD will only include Director Chris Weitz's commentary. The 2-Disc DVD and single-disc Blu-ray will have all the bonus features listed above including the UK exclusive Fan Event Q&A with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Chris Weitz. The DVD discs are region code 2 and will require a region-free DVD player.
There will be a UK exclusive The Twilight Saga: New Moon 2-Disc DVD Limited Edition Memory Box. There are only 5,000 units produced and each is individually numbered. The case is beautifully finished in luxurious black leather with gold foil text and scrolling and a red velveteen inner with mirror. There is room to store all your Twilight Saga treasures and can be used as a vanity case. It is available for pre-order at Play.com, Amazon.co.uk and HMV.co.uk. Both Amazon.co.uk and HMV.co.uk will ship to New York and anywhere else in the United States.

Available March 26, 2010, there will be an ultra exclusive The Twilight Saga: New Moon Premium Box "Always" Edition with a microSD card limited to only 2,000 units. It includes the 2-Disc DVD version, New Moon photo cards, a photo stand, film strip of mini-sticker size photos, film notes (in Japanese) and a microSD card of the movie Twilight. The microSD card is designed to be inserted into a cellphone allowing you to watch the movie on the go. Since Japanese cellphones are designed specifically to support this technology, it is unsure whether the microSD card will work on non-Japanese cellphones. The DVDs will be bilingual in English and Japanese and are region code 2. You will need a region-free DVD player in order to play the discs.
