On January 24, 2012 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater, Tom Sherak, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), and Jennifer Lawrence, last year's Oscar-nominee for Best Actress, announced the nominees for the 2012 84th Annual Academy Awards, which will be simulcast live in HD coast-to-coast on ABC on Sunday, February 26, 2012, starting at 7pm (EST) / 4pm (PST) from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California. The host this year will be Billy Crystal, who has hosted the show eight previous times already.
