Happy 4-20 to you all! Today I attended the Denver 420 celebration at Civic Center Park in the heart of downtown. There were various vendors, speakers, publications, dispensaries, informational organizations such as The Cannabis Therapy Institute, Ganja Gourmet, Free Speech TV, Kush Magazine, Marijuana Life Magazine, and Cannabis Connoisseur (a high-end, glossy “Playboy” of local marijuana magazines), 420 Highways of Lafayette, Cherry Creek Health, Miguel Lopez of Mile High NORML, and many others. It was like the Taste of Colorado of marijuana.
The crowd was diverse, young, and not one violent act went down while I was there for the first few hours. There was even an airplane that flew over promoting the event.
Denver’s 420 gathering started with a blessing and Native American ceremony. Members of the crowd were offered an opportunity to be cleansed with sage. Maybe the ceremony worked, because the event was peaceful, and the sun came out at 4:20. For more pictures, see the slideshow.
