Demand that Obama Implement MERP immediately as a matter of National Security. This is the only policy that is guaranteed to destroy the Mexican Drug Cartels immediately: and without another dime of American "Blood or Treasure" wasted on this senseless War on Marijuana Consumers. It might just transform the US Economy.

=======================================
This article describes a Protest to take place in Dearborn, Michigan. The protest demands that President Obama completely Re-Legalize the unlimited, untaxed, unregulated self cultivation of Marijuana by all adults over the age of 18. It is supported by a majority of Americans and will not cost the American taxpayer a single dime. It calls for Obama to convene a Special Session of Congress to immediately Re-Legalize Marijuana under the MERP Model. This will immediately put an end to the Mexican Drug Cartels and will also pave the way for a Renaissance in the Agricultural and Industrial products that can be made with hemp.
=======================================

Bruce Cain, Editor of New Age Citizen (www.NewAgeCitizen.com) is calling for a protest to completely Re-Legalize the "Self Cultivation" of Marijuana by all adult American Citizens. It will take place on November 21st, 2009, on the steps of City Hall in Dearborn, Michigan at 3:00 PM. He had originally hoped for multiple events across the country but there simply is not enough time to coordinate that before the 11/21/2009 protest date.

Cain wants to force Obama to immediately Re-Legalize Marijuana under the MERP Model. Cain's MERP Model basically forces the destruction of the Marijuana "black market" by legalizing unlimited, untaxed, unregulated "self cultivation" by all adults over the age of 18. By doing this three National Security goals would be achieved immediately:

(1) The Mexican Drug Cartels would go out of business
(2) The Sick and the Poor would be able to grow their own medicine for free
(3) Law enforcement would no longer be able to violate our privacy rights by busting into our homes looking for Marijuana plants and paraphernalia.

The benefits of legalizing the unlimited, untaxed, unregulated would occur immediately after we force a Special Session of Congress to "Legalize It" just like they forced us to accept the TARP bailout which was rejected by 80% of American Citizens. But, in this case Marijuana Legalization is supported by at least 52% of American Citizens and, as a matter of National Security, it needs to be implemented immediately.

Cain does not want to allow Obama to "Just Say No" to the American People on the issue of Marijuana Legalization. He believes that the benefits are simply too great to ignore, now that a majority of Americans finally support Marijuana Legalization.

He cites two reasons for holding this protest in Dearborn. First of all Henry Ford actually grew Marijuana in Dearborn in the late 1930's and produced the first "plastic car body" from the Marijuana plant in 1941.

Secondly it was a Dearborn Police officer that stole Marijuana from an evidence locker a few years ago, resulting in one of the most popular YouTube videos ever. The video captures the officer calling "911" because he thought he was overdosing on some "brownies" that he made with the stolen "weed." Fortunately the officer was fine, however, he was understandably relieved of his job as a Dearborn Police officer.

Though Cain has immense respect for legitimate police enforcement he notes that such stories, of officers getting tempted by the "evil weed," are far too common. And once legal they won't have to sneak around ripping off the evidence locker. They would simply be able to "grow their own" just like everyone else.

Cain believes that the real reason that Marijuana remains illegal is not because it is dangerous. Instead he cites all of the profits that attorneys, drug testing labs, police departments etc. make off of its continued prohibition. For instance police departments bring in over 1.2 Billion dollars annually just by forfeiting the property of non-violent drug consumers. And it is also certain that attorneys make tens of billions each year from representing the 850,000 Marijuana consumers that get busted each year in the United States. Since 1965 over 20 Million Americans have been arrested for Marijuana possession alone.

He is also highly suspicious that Obama wants to eventually monopolize the cultivation of Marijuana by forcing consumers to spend $300 to $500 an ounce when they would be better off growing it themselves for free. By treating Marijuana as an inalienable, sacred right -- protected from any form of limitation, taxation or regulation -- Cain believes that commercial production would be self regulated. The moment the government gets too greedy, adult Americans could always simply turn on the lights and "grow their own" for as little as $20 and ounce. Cain says this is exactly the way "free markets" were intended to work by our founding fathers.

Although Cain has already learned of a dozen people that will attend the event he doesn't want to take any chances. He has prepared mini-flyers that individuals can distribute across college campuses, bars and other public places to spread the word about the event during the next few weeks. They can be printed off on any home computer by following the simple instructions at this link:

He has also prepared numerous articles and videos about his model for Marijuana Legalization: know as the MERP Model. These can be easily accessed through the following link:

The following links contain up to date information on the events as well as additional ways that American Citizens can help promote the event during the next few weeks:

Suggestion on sign making and promoting the event

One final thing that Cain wanted to make crystal clear for those attending the protest. He does not suggest that anyone actually smoke Marijuana at the protest as it is still illegal. "If you feel so strongly about committing such an act of civil disobedience that is certainly your right. But odds are you will end up getting busted and paying a hefty fine for the privilege. Better to smoke discretely until we prevail in the implementation of the MERP Model: and Marijuana becomes legal for all adults."
